"Good design begins with honesty, asks tough questions,
and from trusting your intuition." ~Freeman Thomas
Reaching Consensus (Coming to Agreement) and Practicing Good Teamwork
Include parts of everyone's idea in the final product. Combine ideas.
Take a vote. Majority rules. Possible strategies:
Make a ballot for all ideas.
Thumbs up, Thumbs down
Rock, Paper, Scissors
Pick out of the Hat
Flip a coin
Share all ideas and discuss them until everyone agrees on a plan. Make sure each person gets a chance to share their ideas and explain why their ideas are good. Treat different ideas respectfully.
Feel free to compromise.
Consider throwing out the idea(s) that no one can agree upon, and come up with a new one.
Pick out each person's top 3 ideas and use them in the final product.
Stay focued on the topic, not just my "side."
Disagree with ideas, not people.
Be a good active listener.
Try to see things from the other person's point of view.
Speak to the group and not to individuals.
Praise others ideas.
